Personalize Your Holiday Ornament Favors

Even though the first day of September isn’t giving us a break from the summer heat, we’re already thinking about the winter holidays! Fall and winter weddings are the perfect events to commemorate with an ornament your guests can use at Christmas. Personalized ornament ribbon helps incorporate your wedding color theme and can turn any holiday ornament into a beautiful keepsake.

There are a few different approaches to adding personalized ribbon to a Christmas ornament, and your best choice will depend on your ornament. We decorated this classic glass ball ornament with favor ribbon. Favor ribbon is printed in pre-set lengths. When you cut favor ribbon according to the cutting instructions, there is text on the left and right ends of the cut piece, with a long section of blank space between them. Favor ribbon is the right choice if you plan to make a two-loop bow, and it looks amazing on favors of all sizes. For this large glass globe favor, we used a 7/8″ wide ribbon, but for smaller favors, 5/8″ or 3/8″ wide ribbon is usually a better choice.

We’ve personalized this ornament with our Princess Nancy Favor Ribbon. We used curling ribbon to attach the bow to the “neck” at the top of the globe to make attaching the ribbon a snap! Alternatively, you could use our new favorite favor-making tool, Glue Dots, to attach your bow to the top of an ornament.

If you want to add the luxurious look of a multi-loop bow to your ornament, use continuous printed ribbon. Continuous ribbon has your personalization printed at short spacing throughout the ribbon, and you can cut it to any length. This gives you the freedom to make large, multi-loop bows, and also has the added bonus of being very simple to tie; you don’t need to get the positioning of the text “just right”, since it’s everywhere!

This stained glass ornament is decorated with our Leaf Theme continuous printed ribbon in a six-loop bow with streamers. We attached the bow to the top of the ornament with Glue Dots.

To turn this pewter heart Christmas ornament into a wedding favor, we formed our Snowflake Continuous Personalized Ribbon into a 6 loop bow with streamers, then attached it to the ornament with curling ribbon. We cut the curling ribbon long so it could double as the hanger for the ornament.

Charming Lollipop Favors

We just have to share, we’ve found some marvelous hard candy lollipops from This Charming Candy! We are so glad we took photos quick, because we couldn’t resist them! We chose a ruby colored heart lollipop and a violet sparkling daisy to feature our brand new Daisy Favor Ribbon. We loved their unique look and offbeat flavors.

This Charming Candy Lollipops

Forget the typical lollipop flavors, these sweet treats come in inspired flavor combinations. The heart shaped lollipop is a blend of crisp apple and anise flavors, and the daisy is a combination of jasmine and honey flavors. These lollipops are from their Twilight-inspired collection, a perfectly subtle way to sneak a Twilight themed wedding favor into your reception without giving away too much about your obsession! Other creative themed flavor sets include a Breakfast Tray combination and a Spice Rack collection.

Saying “Thank You”

Saying thank you seems such a simple thing. It’s a response we’re programmed to use in nearly every aspect of our lives. From the barrista who serves up your morning coffee to a coworker who helped you with a work task, your daily encounters are sprinkled with this courteous response. Why is it then that we can find a million ways to procrastinate when we find ourselves in need of penning a thank you note? Not everyone has this problem. There are those who are so prolific in their ability to write that this task is one that brings them no stress at all. It is, however, one of the tasks that seems to overwhelm many people.

Bridal couples often look at the task of writing their thank you notes as the first big chore of their new lives together. It doesn’t have to be that way. While some of your thank you notes will need to be a bit more formal than others, the wedding thank you note can be an opportunity to restate your appreciation for your guest’s wedding gift and their attendance at your wedding. No one expects a lengthy letter, a simply stated expression of your gratitude is really all you need to send. If you’ve got a case of writer’s block, try checking out websites that offer thank you note ideas. www.my-thank-you-site.com has an interesting collection of thank you starters and ideas. It’s a good way to get yourself started.

Having some stationery on hand for your personal note writing is essential in keeping yourself on track for your gracious expressions. There are many lovely styles of note cards that can be personalized with your names or a simple monogram. Couples can benefit from having them with both names and then separate cards for each of them with their individual names or style. From simple note paper to hand made note cards, create your own personal style in your writing paper selection. Visit our Carlson Craft store here for a fantastic selection of stationery.

Often, the biggest regret we have is that we’ve just let too much time pass before thanking someone either for a gift or a kindness. This is a shame because it really is better late than never to say thank you. No matter how much time has passed and no matter how embarrassed you may be, just say it or write it! Timely thank you notes can certainly help you to avoid this situation. According to Emily Post, you should send a thank you note within three months of your wedding. This seems to be a good rule of thumb for an event where you would need to write many notes such as a wedding, anniversary party or a graduation.
Gifts that are given outside of these events should probably be acknowledged more quickly. You should also acknowledge in a timely way a gift that is sent to you rather than hand delivered. Early acknowledgment of these gifts will prevent concern about delivery by the gift giver.

Not every thank you needs to be handled in the same way. A quick thank you call is adequate for expressing your appreciation for some kind gesture someone showed you. There are other times when the appreciation you have for someone moves you to present them with a gift as a token of your gratitude.
Flowers, a box of chocolates or a small gift are all lovely ways to convey your sentiment. A simple floral bouquet tied with a thank you ribbon is a perfect presentation. We offer several styles of thank you ribbons in our Special Occasion section of our online store.
